Monica Bellucci was “bitten by the world of cinema” after appearing in Francis Ford Coppola’s Dracula.
The Italian actress-and-model was cast as Dracula’s bride in the 1992 horror movie which also starred Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder and Sir Anthony Hopkins.
The beauty only appeared in the picture for a few seconds, but says the casting was a significant one because it opened her eyes to the world of film.
"At the time, I was still a model, Coppola had seen pictures of me and he wanted to meet me. Let's say that I can't even call that a role, it's just a small cameo but in a beautiful movie,” she explained in an interview with a French TV show. "I was bitten by the world of cinema."
Monica is married to French actor Vincent Cassel and the pair have appeared in several films together. The couple have two daughters, and Monica says they live a “gypsy” life because of all the travelling they do.
"It is a bohemian life. I live a bit like a gypsy because we are not together all the time because of the shootings, the travel. There are great distances between us but then we have great reunions,” she revealed.
